Jember, 05 May 2023 The opening ceremony for the double degree program. Students from the Institute of Technology and Saints Mandala will start a double degree program at the International Education Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute (SXPI)
Rector of the Mandala Institute of Technology and Science, Dr. Suwignyo Widagdo, S.E., M.M., M.P. explained that; The Double Degree Program that is currently collaborating with SXPI is one of the implementations of the MoU that we signed at the end of 2018. on this occasion we proposed 20 (twenty) students to take part in the learning program at SXPI for 3 (three) semesters.
For the Mandala Institute of Technology and Science, this program is certainly intended as an effort to support the achievement of our institution’s vision to produce graduates who are competitive both at the national and international levels. In addition to gaining knowledge in terms of cross-cultural academics so that our graduates are more competitive.
The Double Degree itself is a program that will give us new opportunities, opportunities and experiences that are not limited to students outside our campus. It will be a good springboard to achieve the future we want, a new challenge where we will learn other people’s culture, language and customs with new people from all over the world.
The international credit transfer program in Indonesia is a form of implementation of the MBKM (Merdeka Learning Kamus Merdeka) program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Double Degree program is a combined study program leading to two university degrees in parallel, either at the same institution or at different institutions, sometimes in different countries. Dual degree programs usually reduce the amount of time needed to complete the two degrees separately. In addition, this program also provides opportunities for students to improve themselves and their knowledge and gain new relationships around the world.
One of the student participants, Chintya Septian Restu said: “I am happy to be part of this program, I and several participants here have also participated in International Credit Transfer at Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute last semester. Furthermore Chintya also explained that the international program that has provided the best and most memorable experience is the winter camp activity that we have done in several other countries. Where we were given experience about the beauty of culture in China and we also exchanged experiences about culture from several other countries.
Furthermore, Monica, one of the participants, also explained that several programs to gain new international experience apart from double degrees were credit transfer programs, and there was also a summer camp which was an extraordinary experience, even with the limitations of the lectures we got. only done online through zoom meetings, but many ways are provided so that we can still feel how extraordinary the lectures at Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute are.
Mr Qing Jingjun, dean of International Education at the Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute (SXPI) is also very proud to be working with Indonesia, especially ITSM because the students are creative, bright, and look forward to collaboration.
ITSM and SXPI – China. SXPI is one of the best tertiary institutions in China, ranked 13th out of 100 vocational colleges in China. ITSM have collaborated since 2017 and this collaboration has been implemented by sending two STIE Mandala students in the Double Degree program in 2019.

Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute is 25 kilometers from Xi’an Provincial Capital and about 15 kilometers north of Xi’an-Xianyang airport. Another achievement obtained by SXPI is ranking No. 13 among 100 national model higher vocational colleges, Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute is the only college of Shaanxi among the top 15 colleges, which is a great achievement for SXPI as there are more than 1300 higher vocational colleges in China, and 39 universities in Shaanxi (by People Daily and Communication University of China).
